I have visited the club on more than one occasion and found the members to be very freindly and always make you feel welcome. I always thought tha Judo was just a sport but having seen the the way this club trains it would seem that it come from the original a matrial art.
Shiro-no-zen Judokwai is different in that they teach much more that just throws it was expalined to me by the instructor that the style is that of traditional judo which was originally a martial art.
I hope this club keeps going as it has a lot to offer in my opinion

The Club is very friendly .Since I started judo about 5 months ago my confidence has been boosted. The instructor Andy makes you feel relaxed and welcome. if you do not understand something will break it down in parts.
I have also attended a Budo course run by our sister club Shiro-no-Zen Judokwai Bury which was very enjoyable. I look forward each week to my lessons and am looking to take my next grade in the new year.
The Shiro-No-Zen Judokwai Gravesend has been open since the 1st of June 2011, and is part of the British Zen Family Association (BZJFA). The training is held at Rhino's Gym on the first floor. The dojos matted area is 81sq meters. The clubs training times are Thursdays from 8pm to 9.30pm and Sundays from 12pm to 1pm. all sessions are open to both adults and juniors. Not only do they teach the Martial art of Judo but incorporate some of the judo moves into an easy to learn self-defence techniques. There is no pressure to grade unless you wish to and the instructors are friendly and very helpful. I have found my time with the club very enjoyable and hope that they continue to have great success in the future.
