Ashington Karate Club

Dedicated to teaching traditional Shotokan Karate in Northumberland and Tyne & Wear.

Kaizen Karate Club was established in 2012 and has clubs based in Ashington, Killingworth, Walbottle and Gateshead.

Sensei Keith Burns, 5th Dan Black belt has over 30 yrs experience teaching all levels of students from beginners to black belts of all ages.

He has competed and won many Kata and Kumite competitions throughout his career. As a member of the Northern Region Squad, he also competed in European Championships and many Inter-regional championships.

Our classes cater for children (3 years and over) and adults alike. Karate teaches individuals confidence, discipline, self-defence and respect for others as well as providing great exercise and fitness.

**Kaizen Kids Class
A fun Karate Class for younger children aged between 3 and 6 yrs. With the emphasis on the basic structure of karate, It incorporates karate techniques with games and exercise to promote physical and mental skills in a safe secure environment. Kaizen Kidz teaches it’s students the main concept that karate should only be used in self-defence and the core aspects of Shotokan karate – control, respect and discipline - are paramount.
