We are a traditional Shotokan Karate club based in the Newquay area, training both children and adults. We aim to deliver structured training in the traditional art, mixed with modern training equipment and methods.
Shotokan Karate is the basis of the Karate we practice using the traditional art from the most popular form of Karate from Okinawa. We use the traditional aspects of Karate for self improvement, self awareness, self protection and general well being.
We offer training to both the experienced person, (karate-ka), and also the newcomer to karate. There will be a lot of questions that you will have, and whilst we can answer some on the website simply contact us and we can run through any questions with you.
We operate under non-contact rules for children, as we regard our responsibilities with regard to child protection to be at the core of what we do. All our instructors are qualified to black belt (“Dan”) grade and also carry qualifications for teaching, as well as fully insured and carrying out an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check annually. All our instructors carry an advanced first aid qualification also.
