Sepoy Freestyle Karate was founded in 1992 by Chief Instructor Gary Smith 7th Dan . Gary has studied in various martial arts including Aikido, Karate, Kick Boxing and White Crane Kung Fu and decided to create a style incorporating elements from all of these. In 1994 Sepoy Freestyle Karate became a full member of NAKMAS (National Association of Karate and Martial Arts Schools). Since then the style has grown, with several dojo's founded across Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire and it now has its own National Tournament Team, the Sepoy Warriors. As Well as teaching sparring Sepoy also teaches weapons, self defence techniques and Kata.
