Blaze Martial Arts is owned and run by Justyn Billingham. Justyn started training in Tae Kwon Do at the age of fourteen after finding himself on the receiving end of a brutal street attack that left him temporarily blinded and unable to go outside. As his love for the martial arts grew, Justyn also took up Karate and then later on, Kickboxing, to further complement his training and widen his knowledge of the martial arts. As the Kickboxing school he trained at used to compete in the 'National Open Tournaments' his tournament fighting decade began, as did his chance to represent England on two occasions.
Throughout his 34 years in the martial arts world, Justyn has studied a variety of fighting arts including Pencak Silat under Steve Benitez and The Keysi Fighitng Method under Justo Dieguez and Andy Norman, achieving several Dan grades including a Sixth Dan in Kickboxing.
An avid writer, Justyn has written eight books on Martial Arts, one of which was a No1 Best Seller on Amazon. He also wrote a monthly column for Martial Arts Illustrated magazine, the UK’s number one martial arts magazine for over ten years, appearing on the front cover three times. In 2014 he was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame as is considered by many as an authority on stretching and dynamic kicking.
