Instruction at Crofton School of Shotokan Karate is led by Sensei Alan Lewis - 5th Dan
Sensei Alan began training back in 1969 at the Thorngate Halls in Gosport, and over the years has accumulated a wealth of experience training and grading under some of the worlds most senior and respected instructors including:
Masters Enoeda, Shirai, Kase, Kanazawa and Senior Japanese Instructors Sensei's Asano, Takahashi and Kato.
Alan holds qualifications in the English Karate 'Coach Education and Instructor Programme' and is a qualified referee with the Shotokan of England Karate Union. Alan had the honour of being Chief referee of the Ladies Kumite Final at the Shotokan karate do United nations World Karate Championships in France in October 2010.
Alan is insured for public liability and along with his assistant instructor's he is C.R.B. checked. He has attended courses on Emergency First Aid and holds a current certificate.
