North London Taekwondo

We practice the official traditional International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) style of martial arts. This is probably the most popular style of martial arts in the world.

Taekwondo is the world’s most popular martial art in terms of the number of practitioners. It is also probably the best “stand up” fighting martial arts. Taekwondo is also known for its emphasis on kicking techniques. The reasoning is that the leg is the longest and strongest part of the body and kicks have the greatest potential to execute powerful strikes without successful retaliation.

Taekwondo students are also trained in self defence, fitnees, power and control. Also taekwondo promotes the 5 tenets of taekwondo which students are required to live by.
