The hardest thing to do when deciding to take up training is to make that first step of contacting a club, and walking through the door. But in doing so, you'll be given respect for the effort and interest you are showing in learning something we all enjoy . Now, If you're a normal person, you'll naturally worry are you fit enough do have the right mix of, strength, speed and endurance, basically are up to it ? well Don't.

What ever your skill level by training regularly you will improve . Our club is about self improvement through self defence. Egos and worry's are left at the door. The training is about you enjoying it.

I've trained intermittently with TVK since the age of 6, up to the age of 30. There is a reason I kept coming back! The senseis believe passionately in the 'code' of the dojo: character, sincerity, effort, etiquette, self-control, and these things underpin all aspects of the classes.

Other classes may result in being trained to kick and punch well but at TVK there are wider lessons, from health & fitness (I have learned about the physiology behind stretching, yoga, and massage) to Japanese culture and the history behind Goju Ryu, the style of karate taught at TVK.

I am now an Assistant Headteacher and have borrowed many teaching techniques from these classes; the class is run with a consistent firm, but friendly approach. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch and there is a clear structure for each class.

If you want an activity for your child which will expend energy, build confidence and social skills and develop self discipline, this class is an absolute must.

Students of all ages get involved in these classes from the moment they step in the door. Different grades train together, teaching one another and ultimately becoming trainers as they reach black belt. Sensi says, "A black belt is a white belt who keeps coming. "

The discipline, respect and strength learnt here are essential life skills. My son has been going to lessons long enough to have reached brown belt. He is deceptively strong for his age and has very quick reactions. We hope he will continue to train all the way to black belt and that one day he may even learn the self control to think before he speaks too!

The training rules that are shouted out at the end of the class, truly are the lessons that are taught here. Whether or not my son continues with his karate he has learned life skills at this dojo that I hope he takes with him; most importantly kindness and respect for one another. I couldn't recommend these karate classes highly enough.

The highest quality teaching for both adults and children. A small, friendly club providing a confident environment to learn in. Highly recommended.

I trained with the Three Valleys Karate Club when i was a lot younger and it was such a fun, hardworking team. All the instructors had a lot of experience and had great teaching methods, i would recommend to a lot of people!

my daughter was very shy and reserved at school, however in the last three years she has really grown in confidence and her schoolwork and general demeanour has really improved - I feel that at least some of this is down to the junior karate sessions.
