Worthing Shodokan Aikido Club
Aikido is a defensive martial art where the force of an attack is controlled and diffused without injury to either instigator or defender. This is achieved by using avoidance and balance breaking followed, if necessary, by techniques including a range of locks and throws. Aikido techniques are frequently taught to and used by police, military & security forces as they are effective in immobilising & disarming opponents. Aikido is closely related to Jujutso, Judo & Kendo.
